For the first time in a long time...
...I actually rocked the sh*t out of a track workout. Which is a complete and total surprise considering how crappy I felt all day long and was dreading the descending 3x1600 main set.
Ya know, some days training for this lil' race called Ironman is really kind of surreal. The summation of all these tough, crazy, challenging workouts is going to somehow mean that I am more than prepared for 140.6 miles of insanity. This season is going to be all about pushing myself to the edge...finding new limits and thresholds...and seeing just far I can go without falling off.
And I'm actually excited about the next few months of building my base. Already I'm feeling stronger (and more tired...and ravenously hungry) and I can't wait to see how it all progresses over the months ahead.
Training this week is going solidly well. My bike now won't be ready until Friday which means that I'm now going to be spinning on Friday night--a little annoying, but that's just the way it goes. Also Mike and I are all signed up and registered for WIBA for a fun weekend of training.
Thought for the day in my Ironman Piggybank...

Isn't it amazing how hungry that you get??
Wow, Friday night spinning. You party animal......
I get hungry just going out for a walk. I cant imagine your training. I think I'd need a personal chef so I could call at the end of the workout and order what I wanted, and then it would be there waiting for me when I got home. Otherwise, the kitchen cabinets would have to suffer my wrath on a daily basis as I tore through them eating anything in my path.
