Welcome to Running Jayhawk's Blog!

A little less conversation. A little more action.

Dawn was right. (but really...when is she not right?)

She managed to kick my ass this morning.

No...I'm not trying to lose 20 pounds in 30 days. Nor do I anticipate doing this every day for 30 days straight like prescribed by the program. Probably 2-3 times a week. I've been trying to focus on my core before my Ironman training plan officially kicks in a few months.

But holy crow...I was surprised that such traditionally easy exercises could make me feel all jello-y. It was interesting trying to raise my arms in the shower to wash my hair.

I can definitely see how people can reap the benefits from this.

But really...the exciting news isn't that I did the workout...but rather...I managed to get up before the sun...

...again. :)

I'm making progress, campers. Hopefully by the time I'm required to do 2- and 3-a-days, I'm able to get up before 6 with ease.

Okay. Time to get ready for work.

Peace out!

gettign up and getting started is i think the hardest part of all this. especially when its cold and windy outside. working on that mental part of this process now will pay big dividends later. think how much easier it will be to get up early when the sun is shining and the birds are singing at zero dark thirty :)

What is this sun thing you speak of? Is it really a tough workout?

You totally get points for actually washing your hair after doing this for the first time because, yes. JELLO shoulders. Hee.

When it comes to getting up early, the thing that helps me most is getting up at the same time every day M-F, regardless if I have a workout or not. That way your body gets used to being up early. (I used to go to work early if I wasn't working out, now I just take extra time at home to have breakfast and check my e-mail and such before heading to work.)

Duane...I'm thinking 6 until I pick up my masters class (5:30-7:30am) and then there's Tuesdays when my yoga class starts at 5. No matter what, it is evident that I need to be getting to bed earlier, which seems to be my current challenge.

I *love* Colin's comment and wholeheartedly agree! Good for you for zero-dark-thirty workouts (and for getting back into the (pool!!).

I just picked up Jillian's video today! Haven't tried it yet though. And nice job getting up before the sun rises...I have problems accomplishing that lately.
