Let the games begin! ...aka...you may now return to your regularly training schedule!

So...the past few days have been a bit shaken up...and as a result, the next two nights are in the pool. 1700 tonight. 2550 tomorrow. We rescheduled our normal Tuesday night swim to celebrate a friend's birthday in style. I'm pretty excited to share that Mike and I are no longer fondue virgins. We experienced the Melting Pot for the first time....and let's just say that we are in loooooove with it. Although we arguably could've made a meal out of just the appetizer alone. Oof! So I'm still going to be swimming all that off, and it's back to the grind of trying to eat all super healthy and what not. But come on, why can't every meal end in a pot of chocolatey goodness and a plate of sampled candied marshmellows, brownies, cookies, rice krispie treats, fruit and cheesecakes!?

Last night was our last cycling class of the first session. I don't think I've had a bike workout that good just yet. We had lots of climbing and lots of fast spin incorporated...and of course...the single leg drill (which, by the way, I would rather swim 500 laps doing fists rather than SLDs for 5 minutes...seriously, man...that is just outright painful). The second session starts up in 2 weeks, and we're both pretty amped. But you know what I'm most proud of? I was able to stay in the aero position throughout the duration of the main set. I've been having some serious drama staying comfortable and yesterday something just clicked. My back and shoulders didn't hurt at all. It was fabulous. I can really see a difference in my form and technique thanks to this class. Worth!Every!Penny! Oh...and I finally learned how to change a tire. :)

I can't wait for the weather to warm up for good so I can take Cooper (my bike) to the streets. I'll be interested to see how I fare in the aero position and maintaining 85+ cadence out there. Although it's going to have to wait for another weekend...apparently we're getting another snow storm tonight. :sigh: ...and the high is going to be 47 today, too. I just don't get mother nature.

Yesterday was an exciting day in the adventures of the mailbox. We received the donations from Amphipod and Injinji. Mike and I were left massively impressed. There are a few more donations in the mail and I can't wait to share the complete breakout of what we've received! A big thanks to everyone who came out to play...we surpassed our goal by several hundred dollars and ended up just shy of $1000! That is amazing you guys!

So games officially begin today!!! IT'S THE SECOND BEST TIME OF THE YEAR, CAMPERS!! Second to Christmas, of course. How I wish I could park it front of the TV all day, but alas, I must work. So I'll be feverishly checking the scores all day long and analyzing my brackets.

I hope you all have a super fabulous day! Let the games begin!!!

Peace out, yo!

Since, I am sick I have been glued to the games. I have never been so excited about college ball. Thanks for putting all this together, and I hope you guys exceed your donations goal.

First off, I just want to say, Where do you find the time?! You and Mike not only hold down a rigorous training schedule, but have birthdays with friends, go to full time jobs AND raise almost $1000 in about 3 weeks. You two are amazing!

I'm glad I decided not to talk smack when I was tied for first with 16 games done. Now if only Texas can go all the way ... oh, never mind!

I almost lost my big sister to cancer. She was one of the lucky 10% to survive the type she had.

Count me in, Bold. Count me in.

OMG, The Melting Pot is THA BOMB, isn't it? And of course they have (or used to) the 'healthy menu', where they cook stuff in chicken broth as opposed to frying it. PFFFT...who wants THAT??? Good thing you are a work-out queen and can work off all the calories... (C:
