By The Numbers: Your Monthly Edition
Compared to January, February was a significantly better month on the training. Still not making 100% of my workouts, but I'm getting there. Mid-week runs?! They've been consistent. Consistently nonexistent. At least I'm still getting my long HR Zone 1-2 Runs in on the weekend, but going to dreadfully slow is making me nuts. I only missed 2 swims because of travel and 1 long ride for the same reason as well. All in all...February was a pretty decent build month...
Biking: 232.02 miles
Running: 38.6 miles...which is ironic because I've had single weeks with more mileage. I guess that's what happens when you only run once a week. Oops.
Swimming: 11,600 yards...including a 2700 yard day in the pool which is the single greatest distance to date (and well over the distance I go during my HIM).
I know some of you are thinking "whatever...that's a walk in the park for me" ...but for me, it's been a big challenging balancing everything between work and personal life. To be honest, I'm exhausted. And hungry pretty much all the time.
I think I'm most proud of my cycling efforts. Last Sunday during my long ride I cranked out 70-something miles on the trainer. That's unheard of for me. But I was irritated and focused, so it came pretty easily. And equally as exciting is how my endurance in the water just keeps getting better. I'm no longer pooped after doing 5 x 200.
Tonight we have 1500 in the pool, but I'll likely end up doing an extra 200-300 yards.

My goal for March is simple. Simply make 50% of those mid-week runs, and keep on rockin' it in the pool and on the bike.
In other news, I am all signed up and registered for the Danskin Tri Sprint this year. It'll be interesting (and exciting) to see how much time I can shave off the distance with the crazy amounts of training that I will have put in. I have a good feeling about this tri season...
