I think I'm dying.
So...yeah...
I've pretty much convinced myself that I'm dying. I've got this weird/annoying bumpy, swollen, painful boney thingie in my neck, kinda right behind my ear, and it's super sensitive to touch. I thought it was just a bone out of place and a simple adjustment from my favorite chiropractor would do the trick...but no. It's still very obvious and very uncomfortable (and he thinks it's my lymph node). I've got Mike all confuzzled, and I'm at the point of borderline freak out...so I'm going to try and get myself into my general practitioner (who I hateeeeeee) sometime soon. I think this is what has been causing my headaches and what not for the past few weeks.
Realistically, it's probably something related to my wisdom teeth that I've been putting off...for...oh...three years now? But for all intents and dramatic purposes...I think I'm kickin' the can. I'll keep you posted on the progess.
Being back at work after a nice mini-vacay was rather anticlimactic. Most everyone was still in vacation-mode and didn't have their heads screwed on straight.
Tonight I went to find my inner zen at Yoga. I nearly broke my neck trying to do a headstand. I'm sure it was at least mildly amusing for the instructor. And once again, the scale is not my friend. As much as I despise counting calories, it looks like that's where I'm headed....sigh.

I can not do a headstand myself even if my life depended upon it. Don't feel bad.
I can't do a headstand and the last time I attempted one, I was probably in middle school. Way to go! Keep us posted on your neck.
I used to be able to do the headtsnad but I probably can't now. Best to start off against a wall for practice.
Don't die.
If it eases your mind any, I've had swollen lymph nodes there. One was the result of an infection I got from a hair clip that dug into my head and caused a small scratch. Who knew?
I like your blog BTW. I read it often, just don't comment much.
Hang in there!
Get that bump checked out ASAP! If it is painful, that is a good sign that it's not anything serious. Probably a swollen gland or, as you guessed, your wisdom teeth. But go to the doctor ... and soon!
I'll bet it is a swollen lymph node. Some massage therapists can actually do a massage that will promote lymphatic drainage. Maybe ask the good dr. for a referral to one who is familiar with that.
Feel better!!
Yep - infected lymph node. Can be a sign that your body is fighting infection of some kind. Massive dose of penecillin or similar should clear it right up.
getting your wisdom teeth out ain't so bad. you get to eat soup and ice cream!
and take drugs.
Don't put those wisdom teeth off!! I did and ended up having to have a lot of other work done because of it.
And I'll have to tell you my wisdom tooth story sometime, it's quite humorous and involves Brent passing out. =)
