Customer Service at its Finest.

Hats off to the fine folks at BodyGlide.

Here is an e-mail from Bill Sternoff in response to last night's post, which I received at midnight last night. MIDNIGHT, people. Midnight. And...in case you're wondering...Bill Sternoff is the President of BodyGlide.

I can't be certain if it was a ghostwriter in their PR department or if in fact Mr. President is lays awake at night wondering if there are any pooches out there consuming their totally awesome product. Either way, they've got me as a customer for life (or at least the lifetime of my endurance running career)...I just wanted to take a moment to share this with you guys...again, if for no other reason than awareness should your dog decide to devour an anti-chaffing dessert.

Hi Barb,

I saw your posting and want to explain the warnings on the packaging.

Over the years, dogs have eaten the product (and some children, too), and to our knowledge, none have suffered any harm. Whenever someone has called about this, we have always asked that they let us know ifthere were adverse effects, and we don't know of any.

In the last couple of years, the Food and Drug Administration imposed labeling regulations for skin protectants. The regulations make it mandatory that the warnings you read on the packaging be printed word-for-word - regardless of the ingredients, whether they are harmful -or not. That's why the packaging says what it says.

We are sorry the experience - and the required warnings - caused you any distress.

Sincerely,
Bill

Wow.

Five Gold Stars for BodyGlide. As if they weren't awesome enough already. Not only did we get an e-mail about this issue...but an e-mail from el presidento within 3 hours of the incident. I am amazed. Thanks again, Bill!

And...I just received ANOTHER e-mail...they're sending me two tubes for free.

I am absolutely stunned at their generosity and customer service. if only all companies took a genuine interest in their consumers like these folks, the world would be a better place. This is just another testament to the supreme awesomeness that is the running community.

Glad the pup is okay!! I love my Body Glide!

Good Luck on Sunday!! Weather reports remain brutal two days before (and with the 2nd Cubs loss-life is terribly depressing here!!), but we'll give it our best right??

I'm hoping Haight will meet up with me 1/2 way and 3/4 way with ice in a bandana. Hopefully, there will be good souls out there offering ice to us!!

In the meantime, I'm drinking water with Nuun tablets in it for the extra electrolytes as per my Coach. Look into it!

Good luck and finish strong!!

I just had my own excellent customer service experience involving Bill. He read a post I wrote in a RunnersWorld forum and took the time to a) track down my work phone number b) called to thank me for my enthusiasm for Bodyglide and c) mailed me some products to try. Nice work!
