Excess Baggage
So last night...I stepped on the scale.
About 2 hours of hysterics later...I'm turning my diet around. I'm going to stop eating so much shit and actually eat to run and not run to eat.
If you see me out...and you see me eating shit. You've got my permission to kick me in the shin and throw out whatever it is I'm eating (unless it's a "night out" and there's a beer in my hand...as long as I'm not overindulging). It's your chance to roughen up the Jayhawk.
And I'll be sure to provide updates once in a while (I promise I won't be one of 'em crazy weight obsessed bloggers who tells you every last thing she put in her mouth during the day).
I know that the weight is only temporary. Afterall, you don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Mmmmk...that is all.
Oh...and I'm going to hit the treadmill for a few miles tonight. Good times.

YOU CAN DO IT! YES, YOU CAN!
I like the "eat to run" bit. I need to keep that mantra in mind as well.
I've been reading your blog with interest (and because you make me giggle). If you have not heard of Girls on the Run -- you need to know about us! You are one of us, even if you do not yet realize it. Check out the Chicago chapter at www.gotrchicago.org and absolutely check out our video on the homepage-- would be a PERFECT inspirational addition to your site!
And for what it is worth -- you GO girl!
Go Jayhawk! Your post sounds like one that I recently wrote. I have always had the I run to eat mentality and it's time to turn it around. We're in it together!
Okay, I love that quote about the water.
Don't worry - it happens to all of us. Just keep running.
I stopped stepping on the scale over a year ago when it wouldn't stop telling me lies. I don't associate with liars :)
But I like that quote about water and drowning when you stay there too. If I remember correctly from your previous blogs, you're a SWIMMER, so you'll be just fine!
I seem to have fallen in the run to eat category recently as well. Time for me to shape up, too.
As all the other women here have said, I too am in the same boat! I've gained at least 5 pounds while "marathon training"...I'm too afraid to step on the scale to see the real number! All I know is that my pants are now feeling a little too snug for my taste! I adjusted my diet about a week and a half ago in hopes of turning that around! Keep us posted!
