Goin' Ice Skating...

There's only one word possible to describe this morning's run...

CRUNCHY.

We had black ice upon ice upon snow upon ice upon more snow and when you put you started to run, you just felt crunching below your feet. Like running on a path of frosted flakes.

It was iiiiinteresting.

...and made for a very slow, cautious run.

I may as well have gone ice skating (in fact...I kinda did)...there was a lot of slippin' and slidin' going on and at one point a handful of us actually toppled on the ice. Good times.

I'm not going to talk about the fact that I was regretting that fifth beer last night around a half mile...but I got through the short run and felt good after the fact (that's what matters, right?).

The weekend as a whole, thus far...is nothing less than super awesome. Mostly because her royal super awesomeness is hangin' with the Kansas clan (hope we gave you a happy birthday, lady!).

Project Kansasizing...SUCCESSFUL. She looked ravishing in her brand spankin' new Kansas t-shirt and at one point I think I even saw her really get into the Kansas/Texas game...which we won after coming back from being down 16 points--it was completely and utterly fantabulous...a game full of fabulosity (as Lisa would say). I was a bit nervous about scaring the shit out of her, as she was watching the game with five crazy Kansas fanatics, but she was lovin' it. Mouse even had a few good ole fashion KU cheers goin' on...see!!! K-U!

But the game...was nothing less than intense. It solidied us as the Big XII conference season champion for regular play and gave us the #1 seed in the Big XII tourney...along with a great case for a #1 seed in the Big Dance (although, to be honest...I'd much rather have a #2 seed...). But I'm sure you'll hear more of my basketball babble over the next few weeks.

For those of you keeping score...Mouse and Phog have solidified their soul mate status. It's awesome. And sweet. And disgustingly cute. And we're all tickled pink over it! I am declaring myself as the ultimate matchmaker. If anyone else out there is open-minded to such a set up...let me know. See...adorable!! But I'll let them tell you all about that on a rainy day.

But it's been some fun times in the Jayhawk/OOSG household. We're getting close to polishing off the rest of the beer in the fridge and we'll be out again in force to paint the town red tonight. And as I always say...an empty fridge and a trash can of beer bottles is indication of a time well spent.

It brings joy to my heart to see Mouse and Phog so happy together.

But that look on Dice's face concerns me.  Perhaps he needs a pug of his own.

Then again, who doesn't?

HA! Does Phog always have his harness on? If he ever has his own movie it could be called "Have Harness. Will Travel."

He's so cute. Pippin will kick his tail in b-ball, though. =)
