You want me to wear WHAT?
*gulp*

At least I don't look entirely ridiculous in this...(just slightly). And I'm not so much nervous about wearing it as I am petrified.
The last time I was in a swimsuit was...hmmm...our honeymoon...uh...two and a half years ago...or should I say 15-20 pounds ago?
But in all seriousness, it's not all too bad. And surely there will be other, sketchier folks in the pool...right? I mean, isn't it the prerequisite of all public pools to have at least one shady old man in a banana hamock? Attention should be diverted to him and not my thunder thighs...hopefully at least.
I'll report back with the first "swim" tomorrow. And I say "swim" because I'm not so sure just how much swimming will take place...I foresee a lot of water up the nose, flapping around like a fish outta water (except I'll be in the water), and maybe even an itty bitty bit of drowning...
...one thing's fo' sho'...it'll be interesting.
Because as of tomorrow, we'll be official YMCA-ers, and officially in tri training...
...weird.
I'm going to be a triathlete (a bit surreal)...but how can a non-athlete, like myself, even be a triathlete.

Tri and Try are pronounced the same way, yo.
btw...marathoners aren't non-athletes :)
give yourself more credit chica :)
Good luck with the swimming!
Good luck, Barb. You are a lot better than me when it comes to swimming. I am not kidding.
At least you have the sense to not invest in a white swimsuit... ahhh yeah, explaination not needed, right? ;)
the first time i got back in the pool i was wearing some big old baggy swim trunks, wieghed about 40 more pounds and could swim for only 20 minutes. now, i am looking for my speedo! you can do it. later.
Good luck with the swim. I'm in the process of getting beach buff right now as i haven't donned a swimsuit in a long time either.
So i'm guessing a picture of you in your snazzy new suit is out of the question?
Once you get into the water, no one will notice and people with goggles will have a distorted view underwater so it won't matter.
Good luck with your swim!
When I used to hit the pool on a regular basis, I found my laps went faster when I always focused on the opposite end of the pool. Hope that helps.
I second Arcaner and hope you'll post a swimsuit photo.
Just think about how much better you will look in your swimsuit after all of that swimming. It will pay off and you will be proud of yourself.
That is so your color!!
Very cute suit! I know you'll do GREAT!
Sweet suit! I thought I was the only one that worried about thunder thighs! I would rather go swimsuit shopping then shopping for a pair of jeans in a heart beat!
