Welcome to Running Jayhawk's Blog!

1.01.2007

Two Double OH, Seven.

Thank gawd 2006 is behind us. I mean, 2007 can't be much worse...right?

That's all I have to say about that...

Well...that and the fact we signed up for the Shamrock Shuffle last night at around 2am. We should be getting a pretty low number I suppose. Good times, campers...good times.

Okay...so with a new year comes resolutions and stuff...so rather than bore you with the traditional resolutions...here are my 2007 running resolutions...

1. Train smarter.
2. Train for speed and actually go to the track once a week.
3. Eat to run...not run to eat.
4. Break 30:00 on a 5k.
5. Break 5:30 for a marathon.

It's on, kiddies. It's on.

Well there's a new PR oppurtunity for you. So, what's the lowest number you have gotten before?

Not gooseeggs I hope (though in my years of road racing in southern california I never saw a 0 bib).

#3 is a great one. It is way too easy to justify eating poorly when you know you will run it off.

Those are some great goals. I especially like the 'eat to run' idea. I might have to adopt that. Happy New Year!

It was wicked fun hanging out with you and the gang on New Years Eve.  I especially enjoyed scandalizing you!    ;)

I predict that you will make all of your goals and perhaps you will even let me in your house again.

Girlie, I told you last night that you can PR....and yes, YOU CAN. Hell if I can overcome a damn injury (ok...three damn) with pazzazz and speed...you can too! :D

I have similar running goals, only I just want to break 6:00 for a marathon. Secretly though, I think I can run 5:30, if I train right. Good luck with your running.
