Signed, Sealed, Delivered...
Welp...after a few more days of deliberation...and talking myself into and out of the triathlon in Galena, I signed up tonight.
Mike signed up last night, and at one point almost killed me for my constant self-negotiation...
...oh the bike is soooooo hilly...oooooh the first time i'll ever be in open water is during the actual event....ooooh what if i'm last...oooooh what if i have a big, fat DNF...ooooh the elevation charts are so intimidating....oooooh what if i suck at the swim thing, cause you know i surely will...oooohhh....oooooh....oooohhh...waaaah, waaah, waaaah....lather, rinse, repeat a few dozen times and you get the picture.
SHUT.UP.ALREADY.
And so I did.
And decided to put up or shut up about the whole triathlon in 2007 all together.
And because I'm not one to go back on my word...
...I signed up.
And figured...if the race doesn't kill me, I'll at least learn something from it. Right?
Yes, I'm a bit nervous. But I'll get over it. I'll see how I fair in the water...and worst case scenario, I can always back down to the du at the 11th hour.
Should be fun. And hell, if I'm not having fun....it'll at least be entertaining for you to read about.
Dear Galena Triathlon,
Signed. Sealed. Delivered. I'm yours.
...just be kind to lil' ole me.
Love,
Barb
