ROADTRIP!

Phog the wonder dog...haning out in the backseat of the car en route to Kansas. He was pretty content the entire trip just sitting in the back, soaking up the sun and chewing on his fire hose.

And here he is exploring Grandma & Grandpa's front yard...the pond is complete with fishies :)

And here are Phog's new friends...Scottie and Casey, champion agility dogs (shelties)...clearly, we are wittnessing the obligatory butt sniff introduction...

So far, Kansas has been a good time. We've been VERY BUSY ("very" being an understatement). It's hard to think we have another day here and then we go back to Chicago. Back to run 16 miles. Back to work. Back to a series of nasty tests and dr. appts. Blah.

I'd much rather just stay here...and wrap christmas gifts. Yes...I spent the evening wrapping christmas presents. In fact, I'm almost done shopping. I'm very excited as I am a Christmas GEEK. :sigh: I love Kansas...almost as much as I love the winter holiday season.

Okay...enough of that. Off to be for me.

Peace, yo.

Confession: I have not done a lick of running since I got to Kansas. I am so totally screwed for Saturday's 16 miler. Someone yell at me.

Everyone needs a vacation... it's still summer for cryin' out loud! ;)

I love the puggy pics and the fact that he's so mellow on road trips! Our pug Lucy is 5.5 years old and she's the sweetest thing ever!

I love your pug photos!  Pugs are the worlds greatest dogs, but you probably know that already.

Are you going to be at the big pug party next month?  Let me know, so my pug can buy your pug a beer.

I don't think your missing a few days of running is a big deal.  I skip days all the time.  But you may want to get in a quick couple of miles before Saturday just to make sure you are nice and limber.

You'll be fine for the run - the legs remember the distance. (I haven't done much running this week either.)

PS -Got the RBF discs the other day.

Phoggy is absolutely adorable! But I have to agree with the others - Christmas shopping in August is just . . .

Actually, you should be nice and fresh for the run, so enjoy!

Your post is the second reference to Christmas I have heard in the past few days. I think I may be slipping in to a depression at the thought of Christmas coming upon us once again. Ugh! Unlike you, I'm not a big fan!

I'm sorry! We can't break up. Not when things were just getting so good. I have a reason, really, I do!

When I was a kid, my parents and I had to go to my grandma's for Christmas. We were the ones who moved away, so we were the ones that had to travel back for the holidays. So, every Thanksgiving and Christmas consisted of getting up at 5:30 AM, dragging myself to the car for a 3 hours car ride to visit with relative I hardly knew because I only saw them those 2 times a year, and then a 3 hour car ride home. So, my Christmas expereinces weren't a lot of fun. I'm trying to get over the trauma. Give me time. I'll try harder so it doesn't become a major relationship issue between us!
