Hot Hot Heat.
Yup. It was hot in there. Within five minutes I had rivers of sweat flowing all over my body like the Tiber. I was able to do about 75% of everything...I got super dizzy in the beginning and had to lay down a bunch. I feel like 5 pounds of sweat came through my pores...it was insane.
I've come to realize that Bikram yoga is more methodical rather than meditative. There was no calming instrumental music...no soothing voices...no relaxing wall fountains and wind chimes. It was a wise ass instructor...lights on...and a whole lotta heat. It totally rocked.
I can't wait to go back.
I haven't felt that flexible since my days of ballet and cheerleading!!

REALLY? Wow I'm liking the positive review, because it sounded like it was going to be a hellhole in there. Hm. Maybe I should try this sweaty-yoga-phenomenon. I guess it's acceptable to pour from your pores if everyone else around you is doing the same.
It was hot as hell in there, Liv. I wouldn't say the whole she-bang was hell, though. Definitely worth trying at least once!
Do you have to be like Gumby to benefit from this?
I've done hot yoga, and it is a good workout, but both times I tried it, I had to leave the room for a bit because I thought I was going to puke. The instructor said that's common because of your body's temp and because of all the toxins you're releasing through sweat. I've always wanted to give it another go, but haven't returned to hot yoga in awhile. Your muscles are so warm, poses are so much easier to move into; holding htem with sweat rolling down your back, well, that's another matter.
oh, i wanna try
my sister does that too, I guess I should try that to gain flexibility!
I've seriously been thinking about trying Bikram yoga- I heard it can help with heat training as well (I live in Texas, need the heat training!) I just may try it!
I've done it before at Crunch and miss it - if you ever want company at class let me know. God knows I need to sweat some pounds off.
